Validate a Compose file before you run it
A Docker Compose file that has a syntax error or a missing field fails when you try to bring the stack up, often with a message that does not point at the real problem. This validator checks Compose YAML for syntax errors, missing fields and common misconfigurations, so you catch them before running.
The Compose-specific traps
Beyond ordinary YAML errors, Compose has its own structure to get right: services referencing a network or volume that is not defined, a dependency on a service that does not exist, ports written in a form that does not parse, or an environment block malformed. These are valid YAML but invalid Compose, so a plain YAML check misses them. Validating against the Compose structure catches the mismatch.
Faster than trial and error, kept local
Validating locally gives you the error immediately rather than after a failed bring-up, and it keeps your Compose file, which often contains service names, ports and environment hints about your setup, on your machine. Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Compose-specific issues does it catch?
A service referencing an undefined network or volume, a dependency on a non-existent service, malformed port or environment entries, and missing required fields, which plain YAML validation misses.
Why is a Compose file more than just YAML?
Because it must follow the Compose structure. A file can be valid YAML yet invalid Compose, such as referencing a volume it never defines.
Why validate before running?
Because it gives the error immediately, rather than after a failed attempt to bring the stack up with a message that may not point at the real cause.
Is my Compose file uploaded?
No. The validation runs in your browser, keeping your service names, ports and environment details on your machine.
Does it check my running containers?
No. It reviews the Compose file you provide, before you run it.
