Google Safe Browsing Checker
Google Safe Browsing is the blocklist behind the red warning page in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Android. This checker opens Google's own Transparency Report for the URL you enter, so the status you see is the live one Google is acting on, not a cached copy.

Google Safe Browsing Checker
Check if a URL is currently listed as unsafe (malware/phishing) by Google.
Going for ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA or GDPR?
Radiatus runs end-to-end compliance & GRC programs.
What Safe Browsing actually checks
Safe Browsing classifies pages into four buckets: malware, social engineering (phishing and deceptive pages), unwanted software, and potentially harmful applications on Android. A listing is per URL prefix, not per domain, so one compromised directory can trigger warnings while the rest of the site stays clean. The list is refreshed continuously and browsers fetch hashed prefixes of it, which is why a newly flagged page can start showing warnings within minutes.
Why this tool opens the Transparency Report
Google's Safe Browsing Lookup API needs an API key, and calling it from a browser would expose that key and send every URL you check through a third-party server. The Transparency Report site-status page is the same data, public, and keyed to nothing. The result is one extra click in exchange for not routing your queries through anyone else's logs.
Reading the result
- No unsafe content found: not currently listed. This is not a security audit; a site can host malware Google has not yet crawled.
- This site is unsafe or contains harmful programs: currently listed. Visitors on Chrome will see the interstitial, and Gmail, Search and most ad networks will suppress links to it.
- Some pages on this site are unsafe: partial listing, usually an injected directory or a hijacked subdomain.
If your own site is flagged
Find the injected content first: look for unfamiliar PHP files, base64 blobs in theme files, new admin users and cron jobs. Compromised WordPress plugins account for most listings on small sites. Once clean, verify the property in Google Search Console, open Security Issues, and request a review. Reviews typically clear within a day or two for malware and can take longer for phishing. Requesting review before the site is clean resets the clock and lengthens subsequent reviews.
What the checker cannot tell you
It shows Google's verdict only. Microsoft SmartScreen, Apple's own lists and email-security vendors keep separate blocklists, so a clean Safe Browsing result does not mean your links will render everywhere.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Safe Browsing checker send my URL to Radiatus?
No. The page builds a link to transparencyreport.google.com and opens it in a new tab. The URL goes to Google only, and Radiatus has no server-side call in this tool.
How long does a Safe Browsing listing last?
Until Google re-crawls and finds the page clean, or until you request a review in Search Console after cleaning up. Listings are not time-limited; abandoned sites stay flagged for years.
Why is my site flagged when I cannot see anything wrong?
Injected content is often served only to Googlebot or only to visitors arriving from search, a technique called cloaking. Fetch the page with a Googlebot user agent or use the URL Inspection tool in Search Console to see what Google sees.
Is a clean result a guarantee the site is safe?
No. Safe Browsing lists what Google has detected. A site distributing malware through a new path, or one that only targets specific regions, can be clean in the report and still dangerous.
Can I check many URLs at once?
Not with this tool; the Transparency Report takes one URL per query. For bulk checks you need the Safe Browsing Lookup API or the paid Web Risk API with your own key.
