Why bucket policies are dangerous
A storage bucket policy controls who can read and write the data, and a single over-permissive statement, public read access, a wildcard principal, can expose everything in the bucket to the internet. This is behind many of the most damaging data leaks, because the bucket works perfectly while being wide open.
