Check for a pangram

A pangram is a sentence that contains every letter of the alphabet at least once. This checker scans your text and tells you whether it is a pangram, how many of the twenty-six letters it uses, and exactly which letters, if any, are missing. The most famous English pangram is the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog, which uses all twenty-six letters and is often used to display fonts and test keyboards.

The check ignores case, numbers and punctuation, counting only the alphabetic letters.

Uses for pangrams

Pangrams are more than a curiosity: they are used to showcase typefaces, test keyboards and printers, and practise handwriting and calligraphy, because they display every letter in context. Crafting a short pangram is a fun word puzzle, and perfect pangrams, which use each letter exactly once, are especially prized and difficult to compose. This tool makes it easy to verify your own attempts and see which letters you still need.

Seeing the missing letters helps when you are trying to turn a near-pangram into a complete one. All processing happens locally in your browser.
