How the dates work

Each of the twelve signs covers a span of roughly a month, but crucially the boundaries between them do not line up neatly with the calendar months; they fall around the twentieth or twenty-first of each month instead. That means anyone born close to a boundary sits on what is called the cusp between two neighbouring signs, and the exact date matters. The calculator handles those boundary dates correctly, and the traits it describes are the traditional astrological associations, offered as light entertainment rather than as anything carrying predictive or scientific weight.
