Stay within a monthly data cap
Many internet and mobile plans impose a monthly data allowance, and exceeding it can bring extra charges or throttled speeds. This calculator helps you stay on track. From your total cap, the data you have used so far, and how far into the month you are, it works out how much data remains, the daily budget that would keep you under the cap for the rest of the month, your average daily usage so far, and a projection of where you will end the month if you continue at the current rate.
A clear on-track indicator tells you at a glance whether your current pace will keep you within the allowance.
Managing your allowance
If your projected usage exceeds the cap, the calculator shows how much you need to cut back by comparing your daily budget with your actual average. This is useful for households sharing a connection, travellers on limited mobile data, and anyone on a metered plan who wants to avoid overage fees.
The projection simply extends your current average across the whole month, so it will shift as your habits change. Recheck it every few days for an up-to-date picture. All calculation happens locally in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is my daily budget calculated?
The data remaining is divided by the number of days left in the month, giving the average daily amount that keeps you under the cap.
How is month-end usage projected?
Your average daily usage so far is multiplied by the total days in the month, assuming you continue at the same rate.
What if I am already over my average budget?
The on-track indicator will warn you, and you can compare your average daily usage with the daily budget to see how much to cut back.
Does it account for different month lengths?
Yes. You enter the number of days in the month, so February and thirty-one-day months are handled correctly.
Why does the projection change over time?
It is based on your current average, which updates as your usage changes, so checking regularly gives a more accurate forecast.
