Calculate crypto market cap and FDV

A cryptocurrency market capitalization is the total value of all its circulating tokens, calculated by multiplying the current token price by the circulating supply. The fully diluted valuation, or FDV, instead uses the maximum supply, showing what the market cap would be if every token that will ever exist were in circulation at the current price. This calculator computes both, along with the ratio between them, which signals how much future dilution is still to come.

A high FDV relative to market cap means a large share of tokens is not yet circulating, which can create selling pressure as they unlock.

Why these figures matter

Market cap is the standard way to compare the size of cryptocurrencies, far more meaningful than token price alone, since a low price with a huge supply can represent a larger project than a high price with a tiny supply. FDV helps you assess valuation more conservatively by accounting for tokens still locked in vesting, team allocations and future emissions.

A large gap between market cap and FDV is a caution flag, because unlocking those tokens can dilute holders. Always consider both figures together. All calculation happens locally in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is crypto market cap?

It is the token price multiplied by the circulating supply, representing the total value of all tokens currently in circulation.

What is fully diluted valuation?

FDV is the token price multiplied by the maximum supply, showing the market cap if every possible token were circulating at the current price.

Why compare market cap to FDV?

A large gap means many tokens are not yet circulating, so future unlocks could dilute holders and add selling pressure.

Why is market cap better than price?

Price alone ignores supply. Market cap reflects total value, letting you fairly compare projects with very different token supplies.
