Generate a JSON Schema from an example
JSON Schema describes the structure a JSON document must follow, and writing one by hand is laborious. This tool generates a JSON Schema from example JSON, inferring the types and structure so you have a schema to validate against and refine.
Why infer a schema from data
A schema written from scratch has to enumerate every field and type correctly, which is slow and easy to get wrong for nested data. Inferring it from a representative example gets the structure and types right by construction, including nested objects and arrays, giving you a working schema in one step. The generated schema is a starting point, since a single example cannot express which fields are required or what value ranges are allowed, but it removes the bulk of the manual work.
A schema to build on
It runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you paste is uploaded and the result is yours to copy straight into a project. Because it works client-side, you can use it on private code and data without anything leaving your machine.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does it produce?
A JSON Schema inferred from the structure and types of the example JSON you paste, ready to validate against and refine.
Does it handle nested structures?
Yes. Nested objects and arrays are described with corresponding nested schema definitions, so a deep example converts in one step.
Is the schema complete?
It captures the structure and types from the example. Required fields and value constraints, which one example cannot reveal, are yours to add.
What is JSON Schema for?
Validating that JSON documents follow an expected structure, used in APIs, configuration and data pipelines to catch malformed data.
Is my JSON uploaded?
No. The generation runs entirely in your browser.
Privacy & Security
Generated locally in your browser. No data is sent to any server.
