Convert between naming conventions

Different programming languages and style guides use different conventions for naming variables, functions and files. This converter takes an identifier or a plain phrase and rewrites it in every common convention at once: camelCase for JavaScript and Java variables, PascalCase for class names, snake_case for Python and database columns, CONSTANT_CASE for constants, kebab-case for CSS and file names, plus Title Case, dot case and path case. It intelligently splits the input, recognising existing camelCase boundaries, underscores, hyphens and spaces, so you can convert from any style to any other.

For example "user profile id" becomes userProfileId, UserProfileId, user_profile_id and user-profile-id.

Why naming conventions matter

Consistent naming makes code easier to read and maintain, and most teams and languages mandate a particular style. Converting a name by hand is fiddly and error-prone, especially with long multi-word identifiers. This tool removes the friction when you move a name between a JavaScript variable, a Python field, a CSS class and an environment variable, which often use three or four different conventions for the same concept.

The splitter handles acronyms reasonably, keeping runs of capitals together, though unusual inputs may need a quick review. All conversion happens locally in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

What input formats can it read?

It accepts identifiers in camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case and plain phrases with spaces, detecting the word boundaries automatically.

Which conventions does it output?

camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, CONSTANT_CASE, kebab-case, Title Case, dot case and path case, all at once from a single input.

How are acronyms handled?

Runs of capital letters are kept together where possible, so an input like "HTTPServer" splits sensibly, though very unusual cases may need a manual check.

Why do languages use different cases?

Conventions evolved separately per language and community. Following the expected style keeps code consistent with its ecosystem and tooling.

Is my input uploaded?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so your identifiers never leave your device.
