Extract links from Markdown
This tool pulls every link out of a Markdown document and collects them into a clean list. It recognises the three ways links appear in Markdown: inline links written with text in square brackets followed by the URL in parentheses, reference-style links defined with an identifier and a URL, and bare URLs written plainly in the text. You can output just the URLs, pairs of link text and URL, or a tidy Markdown list, and optionally remove duplicate URLs.
Optional link titles in quotes after the URL are stripped, so you get the clean destination address.
Why extract Markdown links
Writers and developers often need an inventory of the links in a document, whether to check them for broken destinations, build a list of references, audit outbound links, or migrate content. Doing this by hand across a long document is tedious and easy to get wrong. Extracting them automatically gives you a complete, deduplicated list in seconds.
The link text alongside each URL helps you understand the context without opening the document, which is useful when reviewing or cleaning up references. All extraction happens locally in your browser, keeping your content private.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of links does it find?
Inline links in square-bracket and parenthesis form, reference-style link definitions, and bare URLs written directly in the text.
Can it remove duplicate links?
Yes. With deduplication on, each unique URL appears only once even if it is linked several times in the document.
Does it keep the link text?
It can. Choose the text-and-URL or Markdown-list output to keep the anchor text alongside each destination address.
Are link titles included?
No. Optional titles in quotes after the URL are stripped so you get the clean destination, which is usually what you need.
Is my document uploaded?
No. Link extraction runs entirely in your browser, so your Markdown content never leaves your device.

Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
