Strip personal data out of text
Before sharing a log, a document or a dataset, personal data often has to be removed. This tool redacts common PII from text, emails, phone numbers, IP addresses, credit card numbers, PAN and Aadhaar, so you can share text without exposing the individuals in it.
Why local redaction is essential
Redacting personal data is pointless if you have to upload the data to a service to do it, because that upload is exactly the exposure you are trying to prevent. Doing it in the browser means the sensitive original never leaves your machine. The tool recognises the patterns of common identifiers, structured things like card numbers and phone numbers have recognisable formats, and replaces them, turning a document full of PII into a shareable one. Pattern-based redaction catches the well-formed identifiers reliably; always review the result for anything unusual it could not recognise.
Redact before you share
The tool runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you paste is uploaded, which is exactly what you want when the input is your own security-sensitive data.

Frequently Asked Questions
What PII can it redact?
Common identifiers with recognisable formats: email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, credit card numbers, PAN and Aadhaar numbers, among others.
Why redact in the browser?
Because uploading data to redact it would be the very exposure you are trying to prevent. Local redaction keeps the sensitive original on your machine.
Does it catch every piece of PII?
It reliably catches well-formed identifiers with recognisable patterns. Always review the result for unusual or free-form personal data it could not detect.
What is it useful for?
Sharing logs, documents or datasets without exposing the individuals in them, for support, analysis or publication.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The redaction runs entirely in your browser.
Privacy & Security
Processed locally in your browser. No data is sent to any server.
