Break a CTC into its real components
Cost to Company is a single headline number that hides the components that make up your pay. This generator breaks a CTC into Basic, HRA, employer PF and the remaining allowances, so you can see how a package is actually structured beyond the topline figure.
Why the structure matters, not just the total
Two jobs with the same CTC can pay very differently in hand, because the split affects tax, provident fund and take-home. Basic pay drives PF and gratuity; HRA affects rent-related tax relief; employer PF is part of CTC but not take-home. Seeing the breakup reveals what a package really means for your monthly cash and long-term savings, which the single CTC number conceals entirely.
Understand your package
This is an estimate for planning from the figures you enter, not financial advice, and real outcomes depend on rates and rules that change. Frequently Asked Questions
What does a CTC breakup show?
How the cost to company splits into Basic, HRA, employer PF and other allowances, revealing the structure behind the single headline figure.
Why does the split matter?
Because two identical CTCs can pay differently in hand. Basic drives PF and gratuity, HRA affects tax relief, and employer PF is in CTC but not take-home.
Is employer PF part of my take-home?
No. It is included in CTC but goes to your provident fund, not your monthly cash, which is why CTC overstates what you receive.
How is Basic usually set?
Often as a percentage of CTC, with HRA and allowances built around it. The generator produces a conventional breakup you can adjust.
Is this financial advice?
No. It is an estimate of a typical structure. Your actual breakup is set by your employer.
