Find your age on other planets
A year is one orbit around the Sun, and other planets orbit at different speeds, so your age differs on each. This tool works out how old you would be on Mercury, Venus, Mars and the other planets.
Why your age changes by planet
A planet’s year is how long it takes to orbit the Sun, and those periods vary enormously: Mercury races around in 88 Earth days, while Jupiter takes almost twelve Earth years. So your age in planet-years is your Earth age divided by that planet’s year length, meaning you would be much older on Mercury and much younger on the outer planets. It is a fun way to grasp the scale of the solar system, turning the abstract fact that planets orbit at different rates into something personal and vivid.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my age different on other planets?
Because a year is one orbit of the Sun, and each planet orbits at a different speed, so your age in that planet’s years differs from your Earth age.
On which planet would I be oldest?
Mercury, which orbits the Sun in just 88 Earth days, so you complete many more Mercury years than Earth years.
On which would I be youngest?
The outer planets like Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune, whose long orbits mean you have completed very few of their years.
How is it calculated?
Your Earth age divided by each planet’s orbital period in Earth time, giving your age in that planet’s years.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser.
