Count working days between dates
Many important deadlines are measured in working days rather than calendar days, and counting them accurately by hand across weekends is genuinely tedious and error-prone. This calculator counts the business days between any two dates, excluding weekends automatically, so you can work out a working-day deadline correctly without laboriously counting off a calendar.
Why business days differ from calendar days
A deadline of ten business days is emphatically not the same as ten calendar days, because the weekends in between do not count toward the total, which means the actual calendar date the deadline falls on is noticeably later than a naive day count would suggest. Contracts, payment terms, shipping estimates and legal timelines are very frequently stated in working days for precisely this reason. Counting them correctly, excluding the weekends, gives you the true deadline date, which prevents the common and sometimes costly mistake of treating a working-day period as if it were calendar days and consequently missing the real date entirely.
