Pick a random item from a list
This Random Picker selects one or more items at random from a list you provide, with each line treated as a separate entry. It is perfect for running a fair giveaway, choosing a winner, deciding where to eat, assigning tasks, or any situation where you want an impartial choice. You can pick several items at once, and choose whether the same item can be picked more than once or must be unique.
The selection uses the browser random generator, giving every item an equal chance each time you pick.
Fair and impartial choices
Letting a tool choose removes bias and the appearance of favouritism, which matters for giveaways and group decisions. Because the picker runs entirely in your browser, your list is never uploaded, so it is safe for private names and sensitive lists. With the no-repeats option, you can draw multiple distinct winners in one go, such as first, second and third place.
Each pick is independent and random, so run it again any time for a fresh result. All selection happens locally in your browser.
Notes on this tool
Because the random picker runs entirely in your browser, you can change the inputs and see the result update immediately, with nothing uploaded and no sign-up required. Everything is computed locally, so your information stays private on your own device, and you can use the tool as often as you like for free.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the random picker work?
It treats each line as an item and selects at random using the browser random generator, giving every item an equal chance.
Can I pick more than one item?
Yes. Set how many to pick. With no repeats on, each winner is distinct; with it off, the same item can be drawn more than once.
Is it fair for giveaways?
Yes. Every entry has an equal chance on each pick, and the no-repeats option lets you draw several distinct winners fairly.
Is my list uploaded?
No. The picker runs entirely in your browser, so your list of names or items never leaves your device.
