Why sanitising against policy helps

When managing a set of passwords, for a system, a test dataset, or a migration, it is useful to check them against the policy they must satisfy, minimum length, required character types, and so on, and to filter or flag the ones that fall short. Doing this by hand across a list is tedious and error-prone. Sanitising the list against the rules shows which entries comply and which do not, so non-compliant ones can be caught before they cause a problem. Because passwords are sensitive, doing this in the browser keeps the list on your machine rather than uploading it, which is essential for anything involving credentials.
