Classify personal data in your text

Knowing what personal data you hold is the basis of protecting it, and classifying it helps. This assistant helps identify and classify personal data (PII) in text, so you can see what sensitive information is present.

Why classifying PII matters

You cannot protect or govern personal data you have not identified, and text, logs, documents, records, often contains more of it than expected, names, contact details, identifiers, sometimes sensitive categories. Classifying the personal data in text surfaces what is there and how sensitive it is, which is the foundation for handling it correctly, applying the right protection, honouring retention rules, meeting privacy obligations. It reframes a block of text from opaque content into an inventory of personal data you are responsible for. Doing it in the browser keeps the text, which by definition contains personal data, on your machine.

Know what you hold

It runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you paste is uploaded, which matters when the input is your own code, configuration or security-sensitive data.
