Customer Trust Score

A customer trust score grades the signals that enterprise buyers check before they sign: a SOC 2 or ISO certificate, enforced MFA, SSO, penetration testing, a bug bounty, a public status page and a real uptime SLA. Tick what you have and it returns a weighted grade with the missing items as recommendations.

What it scores

The score is built from weighted signals that buyers and their security teams actually ask about in due diligence. A SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001 certification carries the most weight, because it is third-party evidence rather than a claim. Enforced MFA, SSO and SAML, an annual penetration test, a bug bounty or vulnerability disclosure program, and a public status page each add points. A stated uptime SLA adds more the higher it is, with a step up at 99.9 and 99.99 percent.

The grade and what it means

The result is a grade from A+ to F on a 100-point scale. It is a self-assessment of the posture you present to buyers, not an audit of whether your controls work. A high grade means you have the signals that get you through a procurement security review quickly; it does not by itself mean your systems are secure, and the two should not be confused.

The recommendations

For every signal you do not have, the tool lists the concrete step: obtain SOC 2 or ISO 27001, enforce MFA, implement SSO for enterprise customers, run an annual third-party penetration test, launch a disclosure program, publish a status page. These are ordered by how much friction they remove from an enterprise sale, and the certification is usually the single biggest unlock because it lets a buyer accept evidence instead of running a full questionnaire.

Where it fits

Use it before a sales push into larger accounts to see which trust signals you are missing, and pair it with a public trust page that presents the same evidence. It is a checklist of buyer-facing signals; genuine security comes from the controls behind them, not the badges.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a high score mean my company is secure?

No. It measures the trust signals you present to buyers, such as certifications and a status page. Those correlate with good practice but are not the same as controls that actually work. Treat the grade as sales readiness, not a security audit.

Which signal has the biggest effect?

A SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001 certification. It is third-party evidence, so it lets buyers accept an attestation instead of running a full security questionnaire, which is the largest single reduction in sales friction.

What is the score used for?

Sizing up which buyer-facing trust signals you have before selling into enterprise accounts, and prioritising the gaps. Pair it with a public trust page that presents the same evidence to prospects.

Why does the SLA percentage change the score?

Because buyers read 99.99 percent very differently from 99 percent; the difference is hours versus days of allowed annual downtime. The tool steps the score up at 99.9 and 99.99 to reflect that.
