Know where your traffic actually came from
When you share a link in an email, an ad or a post, your analytics cannot tell which one drove a visit unless the link carries tags. This builder adds UTM parameters, source, medium, campaign and optionally term and content, to a URL, so every visit through it is attributed to the right campaign.
What each parameter is for
The parameters divide the labour of attribution. Source names where the link lives (a newsletter, a search engine, a partner site); medium names the channel type (email, cpc, social); campaign names the specific initiative. Term and content refine further, distinguishing paid keywords or two versions of the same ad. Filling them consistently is what lets analytics group visits meaningfully rather than lumping them under a vague referrer.
Consistency is the whole point
UTM tagging only works if you use the same conventions every time: email and Email and e-mail become three different sources in your reports, fragmenting the data. Building tags with a tool encourages a consistent scheme, so your campaign reports stay clean. The URL is assembled in your browser; nothing about your campaign is uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are UTM parameters?
Tags added to a URL, source, medium, campaign and optionally term and content, that tell your analytics where a visit came from so it can be attributed to the right campaign.
What is the difference between source and medium?
Source names where the link lives, such as a specific newsletter or site; medium names the channel type, such as email, cpc or social. Together they classify the traffic.
Why does consistency matter?
Because email, Email and e-mail become three separate sources in your reports, fragmenting the data. Using the same conventions every time keeps campaign reporting clean.
Do I always need term and content?
No. Source, medium and campaign are the core. Term and content refine further, for distinguishing paid keywords or ad variants, and are optional.
Is my campaign data uploaded?
No. The URL is assembled in your browser.
