Turn a raw chat dump into readable Markdown
Exported chats and pasted conversations come out as a wall of text with names, timestamps and messages run together. This tool parses that into clean Markdown with clear speaker labels and optional timestamps, so a conversation becomes something you can drop into notes, a document or an issue and actually read.
Speaker labels make the conversation legible
The single biggest improvement to a transcript is making it obvious who said what. The converter identifies speaker names and formats each turn with its label, turning an undifferentiated block into an alternating dialogue. Timestamps can be kept when they matter, for example when the timing of messages is part of the record, or dropped when they are just clutter.
Best-effort parsing, and why that is honest
Chat exports have no single format: every app lays out names, times and messages differently, and some interleave system messages. The parser handles common layouts well but describes itself as best-effort because no parser can anticipate every export style. Check the result and fix any line it split oddly. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so private conversations stay on your machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clean Markdown with clear speaker labels and optional timestamps, turning a run-together chat export into readable dialogue.
Can I keep the timestamps?
Yes, they are optional. Keep them when the timing is part of the record, or drop them when they are clutter.
Why is it described as best-effort?
Because every chat app exports in a different layout, so no parser can anticipate them all. It handles common formats well; check the result for any oddly split line.
What is it useful for?
Pasting a conversation into notes, a document or an issue in a form that is actually readable.
Are my conversations uploaded?
No. The parsing runs entirely in your browser, so private chats stay on your machine.
