Make text look corrupted and chaotic
Zalgo text is the creepy, glitchy style where letters sprout tendrils of marks above and below them, as if the text is corrupting. This generator produces that effect from your input, with the amount of chaos adjustable so you can go from a light disturbance to a fully consumed mess, ready to copy for a spooky post or a horror aesthetic.
Built by stacking combining marks
The effect comes from stacking many Unicode combining marks onto each letter. Each mark attaches above or below, and piling on dozens produces the dripping, glitching look. The chaos slider controls how many marks are added, which is why a low setting gives a subtle wobble and a high one buries the letters entirely. Underneath, the base letters are still there.
A novelty, and a stress test
Beyond being fun for Halloween posts and glitch aesthetics, Zalgo text is a genuine stress test of how software handles combining marks: some systems slow down, clip the marks, or spill them into neighbouring lines. That is a property of the technique, not a fault. Use it for effect, knowing it is deliberately abusive to text layout. The generation runs entirely in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the glitch effect made?
By stacking many Unicode combining marks onto each letter. Each mark sits above or below, and piling on dozens creates the dripping, corrupted look.
Can I control how intense it is?
Yes. A chaos setting controls how many marks are added, from a subtle wobble to letters buried entirely.
Why does Zalgo text sometimes break layouts?
Because the stacked combining marks are deliberately extreme, some systems slow down or spill the marks into neighbouring lines. That is inherent to the technique.
Is the original text still there?
Yes. The base letters remain underneath the stacked marks.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The generation runs entirely in your browser.
