Sometimes you need to swap one word or phrase for another throughout a block of text: a renamed product, a corrected spelling, a placeholder filled in, a name redacted before sharing. Doing it in a document editor is fine until the text is something you would rather not upload, or until you need it done to a paste that has no home yet. This tool does the replacement in your browser and shows the result immediately.
Case sensitivity is the setting that matters most
Whether "Apple" and "apple" should both be replaced depends entirely on what you are doing. Case-sensitive matching replaces only the exact form you typed, which is what you want when the capital letter carries meaning, such as a variable name or a brand. Case-insensitive matching catches every variant, which is what you want when you are cleaning prose. Having both available means you are not forced into the wrong one.
A safe way to redact before sharing
Because it runs locally, find-and-replace is a practical way to strip a name, an account number or an internal codename out of text before you paste it into a ticket, an email or a chat. Nothing you type or replace leaves the page, so the sensitive original never travels.

Every occurrence in the text is replaced at once, so you do not have to step through them one at a time.
Can I match case exactly?
Yes. Case-sensitive matching replaces only the exact capitalisation you type; case-insensitive matching replaces all variants regardless of case.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. The find-and-replace runs entirely in your browser, which makes it safe for redacting sensitive text before you share it.
Can I use it to remove a word entirely?
Yes. Leave the replacement field empty and every occurrence of the search term is deleted from the text.
Does it handle multi-line text?
Yes. Paste as many lines as you like; the replacement is applied across the whole block at once.
