Extract @mentions and usernames
The Mention Extractor finds every username mention in your text and collects them into a clean list. It recognises the at-sign followed by letters, numbers, underscores or dots, which covers the handle formats used by the major social networks. The tool is careful to match only genuine mentions, ignoring at-signs that appear inside email addresses by requiring a boundary before the symbol.
You can keep or drop the leading at-sign, remove duplicate handles so each person is listed once, and choose line, space or comma output for pasting into a spreadsheet, a direct-message list or another post.
Organise who was mentioned
Community managers extract everyone tagged in a thread to follow up or acknowledge them. Marketers build lists of collaborators and influencers from campaign posts. Researchers collect handles across many comments to study interactions. Anyone running a giveaway can pull the list of entrants who tagged friends.
Because email addresses also contain an at-sign, the tool only treats an at-sign as a mention when it starts a handle rather than following a word character, which keeps addresses out of your list. Everything runs locally in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it pick up email addresses by mistake?
No. A mention is only matched when the at-sign is not preceded by a word character, which excludes the at-sign inside email addresses.
Can I remove the @ symbol from the output?
Yes. Untick "Keep the @ symbol" to output bare usernames, which is handy for building plain handle lists.
Does it remove duplicate mentions?
Yes. With deduplication on, each handle is listed once regardless of how many times it was mentioned or its letter case.
What characters are allowed in a handle?
Letters, numbers, underscores and dots, up to thirty characters, which matches the username rules of the major social platforms.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. Extraction runs entirely in your browser, so the text and the handles found never leave your device.
